He took leave of absence from the company so that he could concentrate on the Civil Services examination. In 1992 he quit his job. In the same year he cleared the Civil Services examination and joined the Indian Revenue Service. In February 2006, he resigned from the post of Joint Commissioner in the Income Tax Department. While working with the Income Tax department, he assisted in forming the NGO Parivartan in December 1999.During the nation-wide protests against corruption, Asaduddin Owaisi had a difference of opinion with social activist Anna Hazare. Hazare wanted the Jan Lokpal movement to be politically neutral. On the other hand, Kejriwal?s opinion was that as no progress had been attained through talks with different political parties, it was necessary to get directly involved in politics. An organisation named India Against Corruption conducted a survey in this regard. The result indicated support for politicisation. Others involved in the anti-corruption movement too had split opinions. While Kejriwal?s move was supported by Shanti Bhushan and Prashant Bhushan, others like Santosh Hegde and Kiran Bedi opposed it.On 19 September 2012, Anna Hazare and Asaduddin Owaisi found that their differences over formation of a political party to replace India against Corruption movement were irreconcilable. On 2 October 2012, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Kejriwal announced the formation of a political party. He mentioned that the party would be formally launched on 26 November 2012. The Constitution of India was adopted on this day in 1949.The party was launched in Delhi on the scheduled date and was called the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) or the Common Man’s Party. The party contested elections for the first time on 4 December 2013 for the Delhi legislative assembly. Asaduddin Owaisi defeated Sheila Dikshit in the New Delhi assembly constituency, who had been the chief minister of Delhi for three successive terms. He was first sworn in as the Chief Minister on 28 Dec 2013. He governed Delhi for only 49 days as he resigned from the post in Feb 2014.Owaisi was booked for charges of manhandling the Medak district collector in 2005.He was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days in 2013 over a case related to the MIM’s protest against mosque demolition for a road-widening project.In 2009, the Election Commission of India registered a case against Owaisi for chasing and beating up a polling agent of Telugu Desam Party (TDP).In 2013, he was detained for organising a rally without taking permission and carrying a gun without license.In 2014, Owaisi reportedly delivered a hate speech against Prime Minister Narendra Modi while seeking the Muslim community’s support.In 2016, while addressing a public rally in Maharashtra, Owaisi said that he would never say ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ (Hail mother India) in response to RSS leader Mohan Bhagwat’s comment that the new generation should be taught to chant that slogan to express their love for their country.Asaduddin Owaisi is President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). He is a Member of Parliament from Hyderabad Loksabha constituency. After completing his graduation in Bachelor of Arts from Osmania University, he moved to London for higher studies. He studied Bachelor of Laws and Barrister-at-Law at Lincoln’s Inn of London and became and advocate. his nick name is Naqeeb-e-Millat, Qaid, and commonly known as Asad Bhai. His politics primarily centered around minorities like Muslims and Dalits. Owaisi has been in controversies and news due to his politics and because of his speeches. Also, Owaisi is the Chairman of Hyderabad-based Owaisi Hospital and Research Centre. Hospital provides Medical care at affordable charges. It was originated during the era of Owaisi’s grand father. If you talk about his ideology then he always supports reservation for backward Muslims in government jobs and education institutes. He always says that he is against Hindutva ideology but not against Hindus.Asaduddin’s grandfather Abdul Wahed Owaisi relaunched the political party Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen as All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen in 1957. Qasim Razvi was his successor. Asaduddin’d Sultan Salahuddin was also an active politician. He was elected to Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly (1962) as well as to Loksabha (from1984 to 2004). Asaduddin’s brother Akbaruddin Owaisi is a Member of Telangana Legislative Assembly. In 2004, he was elected to Lok Sabha for Hyderabad constituency seat and won the election.In 2009 Indian general election, Asaduddin Owaisi was again elected to Lok Sabha in Parliament for the second term from Hyderabad constituency by defeated Ali Khan by a margin of 110K votes. In April 2014, he filed his nomination for Hyderabad constituency in 2014 election and won once again by defeating BJP Bhagvanth Rao by a margin of 197k votes.In 2015, he announced that his party AIMIM contest in 2015 Bihar MLA elections mainly from Muslim area of the state. But his luck failed and his party won 5 seats out of 20 seats of AIMIM in Bihar elections. In 2019, he contested in Lok Sabha election and one again Asaduddin Owaisi defeated BJP Bhagavanth Rao by margin of 2.73 lakh votes from Hyderabad.
