the maharashtra fruit nurseries and sale of fruits plants act 1969 licensing requirements of nursery any person engaged directly with the distribution of plants plant product plant material nursery stock is required to inform the department the existence of progeny plants and their operation he should obtain a nursery license prior to initiating such business.

the aforesaid firm or individual are required to renew their nursery industry license each year or every third year as per local nursery act in order to continue the bussiness.

inspection of nurseries and nursery stock certification after receiving the nursery industry license application the department or its representative shall examine or inspect all plants material or nursery stock located or grown on the bussiness location or any other applicable locationn the department shall conduct inspection yearly or at any time as it deems the best with or without notice after successful completion of an inspection the department shall issue a nursery stock certificate to the licensed nursery.

refusal suspicion or cancellation registration or certification may be refused suspended or cancelled for any plant in part or all of a planting stock under any of the following conditions.

if nursery is not working as per the standard prescribed by the rules and regulations of state government or government of India. if the plant are found to be virus infected or there are off type plants in the nursery if a registered mother tree is found virus infected after periodic indexing if the pest control requirement are not followed properly upon inspection if the plant have not been properly maintained if the registration number is misused.

civil penalties

the civil penalty for violation of any section of act not already stated will be the assignment of a civic penalty the confiscation or destruction of any and all plants plant material or nursery stock found on the premises or contained in the shipment in questions and or suspension or revocation of the current nursery industry license or any future operation privilege granted under the act .

the medium used for germination of seeds of rooting of cutting layers is called as the propagation media several media and mixtures of different media are used in the sexual as well as asexual propagation of the plants all such media have several properties however the ideal medium should have the following properties or quantites.

the medium must be sufficiently firm and dense to hold the cutting or seeds in olace during the root formation or germination

the volume of the medium should be fairly constant when either wet or dry it should not shrink or expand excessively porous and should be able to drain out the excess water and provide adequate aeration

it should be sufficiently ratentive of moisture

it should be free from weed seeds nematodes and various disease organism.

it should must have a suitable ph level for the germination or growth of the roots and shoots

the most commonly used media propagating the plants are as under

soil soil is composed the material on solids liquid and gaseous state these material must be in the proper proposition for the satisfactory plant growth the solid portion of soil comprises of both organic and inorganic forms and determine yhe texture of the soil by relative proportionsvof the particles of different size and also assists in holding the water and plant nutrients the liquid portion in soil solution containing desolved minerals while the gaseous form of soil is in the farming in the air spaces for the good germination or growth of plants soil should have good structure and texture the terms texture and structure refer to the size of individual soil particles and the arrangement of those particlesbin entire soil mass respectively.
